What do I do? Who am I? What do I like, blah blah. So. My intro. My name is Teki. I'm a military spouse, with two gaw-geous children.
I'm studying to be a Rehabilitation Counselor, and I am hoping to work with wounded soldiers and their families after I'm done with school. I'm in a love/hate relationship with my role in military home. I love/hate the sacrifices the military community has to make to protect this
country. I love the men and women in uniform for their service to this country. I hate that it means that our loved ones have to deploy and give their lives in order to do so. I love the camaraderie the military community shares. I hate the frequent moves, loss of friendships, and distance from familiy members. But, I love my husband, and will continue to be his cheerleader while he serves this country of ours.
I love fashion, although I was NOT fashionable growing up. I was raised in a Pentecostal household, so I always wore skirts and dresses. Yeah, not much you can do with that. There was 7 of us kiddos, with a stay at home mom, and workaholic dad. Limited income+ strict religion+ glasses="GEEK."
That was my label. Plus I was super skinny. Twiggy was my nickname. I was never considered cute, was only popular because everyone and their mommas knew of us, thanks to having twenty siblings and our hand me downs. I was constantly teased, and had a small group of friends.
Although I desperately wanted to be popular for the right reasons, I never was, and..the funny thing is, all the popular girls are now fat and I blossomed into a supermodel. In my head.
I like to shop. Duh. I am a country, outdoor loving girl. I love to fish, camp, hike, jetski, anything outdoor-sy, I love. I LOVE to read. I had officially read 135,308 books.
Reading is fundamental, yo.
My mom used to take us to the library and we HAD to checkout
books. We couldn't go out with friends, so the library was my hangout place. I have instilled reading in my children. My 8 year old was reading by the age of 3, and she already has a library in her room. She's also the smartest kid in her grade.
I am hilarious. You will find that out soon enough. I love to laugh, party, have a good time. I love wine. Ahh wine. But I'm not an alcoholic...is what I tell myself. I love dancing. It is a stress reliever for me. I'm an awesome dancer. In my head? No, really I'm a great dancer.
So, there's the basic intro. There's a million more things that I like, that I'm passionate about, so I'm actually excited to finally get started blogging, and writing stories about my double life. So stay tuned, as I introduce you to the fabulous world of stardom, in my head.
